Temples to visit

Kalasan Temple also known as Candi Kalibening, is an 8th-century Buddhist temple. This temple is a site of holy building for the goddess Tara.

Plaosan Temple also known as the ‘Plaosan Complex’, is one of the Buddhist temples located in Bugisan village, Prambanan district Yogyakarta, the temple covers an area of 2,000 square meters with an elevation of 148 meters above sea level. Plaosan temple was built in the mid 9th century by Sri Kahulunnan.

Barong temple is a 9th-century Hindu temple, the temple is located on a hill in Candisari hamlet, Bokoharjo village, Prambanan subdistrict – Yogyakarta. The temple is named barong according to its Kala’s head carving on top of the niches of its temples that resembles Barong.

Ijo temple is a Hindu temple which was built between 10th to 11th century CE during the Mataram Kingdom period, this temple located in Groyokan hamlet, Sambirejo village, Prambanan district, its name derived from its location, the Gumuk Ijo hill.
